Pre-Drywall New Construction Inspections.

Ensure that the construction of your new home is of the highest quality with our Pre-Drywall, Phased New Construction Inspection. Let our company evaluate what’s under and behind the surface before it gets covered up for good!

Are you buying a new construction home?

Buying a “new build” provides a unique opportunity for you as a future home owner. When buying an older home,  only visible surface level items can be inspected. When building a new home, however, you have the option to have an independent inspection of the interior components of the home during construction. This is becoming a more common practice that is known as a pre-drywall inspection or phased new construction inspection. This inspection is performed prior to the installation of drywall to evaluate framing, insulation, piping, electrical methods, and more.

ASHI Standards used for pre-drywall new construction home inspections

ASHI Pre-Drywall Standards of Practice

Similar to our home inspection methods, we follow the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) Standards of Professional Practice for Residential Pre-Drywall Inspections. This helps us ensure that we are offering a high quality inspection that covers all the important aspects of this specialized inspection.

Why Do I Need This Inspection?

When a new home is being built, multiple contractors are in and out of the property working on the different aspects of construction. Plumbers, electricians, framers, and insulators are all working independently to get their portions of the job done.

This can sometimes lead to items being overlooked and can also result in construction defects of varying degrees. However, many of these defects are covered up and not visible prior to your final pre-purchase inspection. This is why it’s so important to inspect a new construction home during the framing, rough-in phase. Our independent inspection will help to ensure that the home is constructed properly, which will lead to fewer problems in the future.

What Is Inspected?

The sections of the home that are inspected during this service are as follows:

  1. Foundations
  2. Floor Systems
  3. Framed Wall Systems
  4. Roof Systems and Coverings
  5. Heating and Cooling Systems
  6. Plumbing & Electrical
  7. Wall Coverings
  8. Window and Door Installation
