Lakewood Short Term Rental Inspections
The City of Lakewood has recently passed a bill requiring all short term rental properties to be licensed. This process involves hiring a certified inspector to assess the property and fill out an inspection form, which must then be filed with the city clerk’s office.
The new law is meant to ensure that all short term rental properties are up to minimum safety standards.
According to the City of Lakewood: “On and after September 1, 2023 (effective date) it is unlawful for any person to maintain or operate an STR without first obtaining an annual license from the City Clerk’s Office.”
