Tell us about yourself and how you got started as an agent?

I am a Colorado Native, I grew up in Evergreen and graduated from CU with a finance degree. My first job was in real estate, and I never left! Since then, I worked for a luxury real estate developer, and then was the Vice President of a local luxury boutique firm before my most recent role as the Managing Broker of milehimodern Boulder.

What is your professional opinion on the Colorado Real Estate market right now?

The Colorado Front Range is an incredible place to live. 300+ days of sunshine per year, a strong economy, a wonderful arts and culinary scene, and the lifestyle that we enjoy makes this a very attractive place for buyers to put down roots. I believe that even as the market slows down, which I believe it will, our local market will remain strong.

If you were buying a home in Colorado, which areas would you be looking in? What neighborhoods are next up?

Actually, my husband and I just bought a new home in Louisville and are in the process of a pretty major remodel project. I have lived in the Louisville/Lafayette area for more than 20 years, and love the small town feel, plus the proximity to both Boulder and Denver that both these communities offer.

Any advice for buyers when it comes to the home inspection process?

The home inspection is one of the most important parts of the homebuying process. It gives buyers a chance to really get to know the property and understand what they are getting into. I also understand that the inspection is usually the most stressful part of the process, for both buyers and sellers. I try to talk to my buyers ahead of time and prepare them to receive a long list of inspection items, regardless of the age or price of the home. And when I am working with sellers, I always highly recommend that they invest in a pre-listing inspection, so they know ahead of time if there are any major issues with the home. No one likes a surprise halfway through a transaction. This has lead to much smoother deals for all involved parties.

What is a typical day (or week) like for you?

Every day and week is different! That’s one of the things I love about my job: you never know what each day will bring.

What do you like most about your work?

I believe that where you live has a huge impact on your life, and that guiding clients through the homebuying or selling process is really important. My goal is to help people curate lives that they love, and that starts with where they live; not just the home, but the neighborhood and community they choose.

What advice would you give to a buyer in today’s market?

First, and foremost, find an agent that you trust to guide you through the process. In this market especially, you need an expert to advocate for you every step of the way and help you negotiate to get the house, while still protecting your interests. Second, work with a great local lender and go through the pre-approval process so you are very clear about what you can (and can’t) afford. And third, be patient. In this market, you may have to miss out on a few houses before you get “the one”.

What areas do you serve?

I have primarily served clients in Boulder County and the areas between Boulder and Denver. I believe having a strong knowledge of the communities all along the Front Range allows me to guide my clients to find their perfect place.

What hobbies do you have outside of your business?

I am a certified yoga instructor and try to make yoga a part of my everyday life. I absolutely love to travel with my husband and two kids, and hike around our gorgeous state with our two dogs.
